Asus laptops with Intel Anti-Theft Tech

Apparently Intel’s Anti-Theft Technology which was heard of sometime ago and nothing since, is now being loaded into Asus laptops, so Asus have announced. The Asus P30 and Asus P80 laptops both now come with the Intel anti-theft system inside, and it also come with some laptop accessories.

This Intel system apparently enables the laptop owner to send a type of “poison pill” remotely to the laptop and thus renders the machine inoperable by “comprehensively shutting it down.”
However, if the owner happens to get the machine returned they can reactivate the laptop by inputting a pass-phrase. Only thing is this tech still doesn’t stop thieves from ripping the lappy apart and selling it on.
